I am in the same situation. I am looking for a scope for my 10/22 kit. I have short listed an Elite 3200 2-7x33, but I really like the Elite 3200 10x40mm but I am concerned about focusing down to 40/50yds.
Any suggestions?

If you are going to put a centerfire scope on a rimfire make sure it is an AO model, if it does not have AO you could be causing your self some grief since the centerfire scopes are paralexed to a longer range than rimefire are normally shot at.

Ya know, I've never had an AO scope on my 10/22 and never noticed a problem with parallax. If you're just whackin gophers, what's a 1/4 inch out every once in a while?

Have i mentionned that Mueller's eraticator or Mueller's tacticle would be perfect for you too!!! and they have AO

I'm not sure there's even a good compromise for both a hunting and target shooting scope. For example if you use a Tasco Varmint 2.5-10x AO it's a great choice for hunting even at close range, but a better target scope would be higher magnification like a Tasco Varmint 6-24x but it also won't focus as close, and be as good for hunting. Maybe a 4-12x or 5-15x is the best size range if you want to do both hunting and target shooting, and I'd also consider going for better optics and therefore more optical clarity if you can afford it too.

Yes an adjustable objective is a must, and so is a good scope base.
Thanks for the input guy's. I have a B&L 3000 2-7X33 thats collecting dust in my safe. Would this be ok? No A/O but the price is right. I may give it a try and see how the 10/22T shoots . If this is no good I may step up to a 3200 - 4-14X40 with A/O. Again, I don't want a really high power scope. I like to shoot pigeons at close range 20-40 yards max. Thanks again. Tikka.

With that range you want AO for sure. Here is my 10/22 with a bushnell banner 4-12X40AO
I think rimfire is one of the places you can get away with a cheaper scope. but that said it depends how much you fiddle with the knobs. For me I'll be figuring out what it likes setting it for 75 yards and leave it there, for the most part. I have found that if it was not crap from the start then the next point of failure is the adjustment knobs, and the more you use them the quicker the wear out.

I just bought the tasco 6-24 mildot with AO from wholesale sports for $99,..... will be putting it on my custom 10/22T.
first time buying a tasco but hope it works out, will let you know when it gets here.
