Scope for S&W

Hi guys, I need your opinion on scope or optics for my handgun S&W, i have rail on gun already, I am not looking for something big and bulky, any help appreciated.
 
I have a leupold m8 2X eer scope that I'm thinking of putting on my S&W 19-3, but I don't have a rail yet. I also have a 4x that I just put on my ruger .22. Once I get the smith set up I may try the 4x on it, I have trouble holding the 4x steady without a rest.

Need a scope mount? ;);)
 
I have a SW 629 with the rail (see pics in handgun forum) and am thinking some other type of sight might be better than the irons. Anyone seen the Leupold 1x14? I talked to Korth today and they haven't made it to the frozen north yet. I am planning on shooting PPC. Any input appreciated.
 
A friend of mine and I shot steel plates with target loads in my 2X scoped Dan Wesson and we both thought it was amazing how fast you could pick up the plates.
