Scope for Savage 30-06

go with the bushnell 3200, if you are going leupold move up to vx3 its that much better really, I have two vx 2's I am going to trade in favor of the vx3 both 3-9x40's. 9 is plenty of magnification for hunting the most commn power being 6. Fov is critical and super high power really cuts into that.

i LOVE my bushnell 6500 2.5-16x50. sure the higher powers aren't super clear, but who's going to shoot a deer at 900? Lots of power, and still cheaper than a leupold. But if you've got the money for it, VX-3 is awesome!

i got a bushnell 3200 elite on that savage 30-06, currently shoot just above an inch, very good, also change your rings, trust me.. this made more of a difference than anything

My brother bought a vortex cheap and is now seriously looking at switching over too, he really likes them for his eyes, so does his son, I have no experience with them.

I have used both on my 30-06`s and they are both very good. For now I`m using a vx1 2-7 and I think it`s great. Better eye relief and it seems clearer to me. I find with the 3200 you have to find the sweet spot and the eye relief is short, but the raingard is awsome. It`s up to you.
I agree that the vx3 is much better, I`ll be sure to get one when my income is much better.

Yup, get yourself 2 extension rings and point them towards the inside (action is very long, scope bases are unreasonably far apart giving little eye relief on most scopes), then get any scope you want. The New Redfield Revolution scopes are great, so are the Bushnell 3200 line and the Leupold VX1's. I'd get either the Redfield or Bushnell (whichever is cheaper) also look at the Burris Fullfield II scopes. I use all of the above, and find they are all equally good.

Depends if you are a shooter or a hunter. 3200 has slightly better mult-coating and light transmission IMO, while the VX-1 has an advantage of eye relief - more of it and less critical.

If you're shooting is mostly from a bench i'd take a 3200, but for hunting I prefer the leupold any day.
