Hey all,
Anyone recommend a decent scope for decent price to throw on a 10/22 Ruger that shoots about 750-1000 rnds a week?

Before you start commenting about how your scope should cost ### amount as the gun please let me explain,
Inherited the Inlaws cabin and I've been taking the kids out there and we chew through almost a full bucket o' bullets a weekend with a 10/22 Ruger left up there. We have gone through three scopes already this year( rectiles start turning). Just want something good for plinking and wondered if anyone might have recommendation?
Thanks!

I put a Bushnell Banner series 3x9x40 on my 1022, its gone through plenty of rounds so far and is never been a problem. Plus Bushnells have a lifetime warranty. For a $100.00 scope they can't be beat.

I heard the rail that comes with the 10/22 isn't very good - scope rings will slip even with light recoil on the 22. So the advice out there is to get an aftermarket rail for the 10/22 - Weaver one piece for the 10/22 is commonly chosen. Based on reviews I put a Simmons .22 Mag Rimfire 3-9x 32mm on mine for $70 - (same idea as yours, to keep it cheap) but at least lets in a decent amount of light. Picked up Weaver scope rings at Canadian Tire and then I was all set. Probably gone through 700 rounds with that so far and no issues.

As much I dislike an old Simmons scope I have, I did buy the Simmons 22 Mag 3-9x32 with the red ring (and it was even on sale!) for my daughter's little purple 10-22. I bought it because the eye relief is amazing, like 3 to 8 inch range, which kids always seem to have issues with. Also, the cross hairs are fairly fine, not like my other Simmons. I have an old unemployed Leupold VX1 on my 10-22. Never had an issue with any stock Ruger rails.

I bought a Simmons 22 mag 3-9x32 for my daughters 10/22 and your right about eye relief. Bought mine off Amazon for $50 no pst and free shipping.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I picked out a weaver rail on the weekend and will try to look at the above mentioned scopes this weekend at the show.

Again thanks all!

Grab a Scorpion 3-9.... I have the compact version on some of my 10/22's and have thousands of rounds through them, there was even an incident where one got run over by both wheels of an F150... caps were dented and thats it was still zeroed but that's a strory for another day that can also attest to the robust chassis of the 10/22 takedown...
I just put one on my Norinco JW25A too and its performing flawlessly like the others. They retail for about $100....

They also have a Lifetime warranty... Got me some new caps through that by just being honest with them LoL

Leupold VX2 3-9 A0 EFR or for less money a VX1 rimfire in 2-7 or fixed 4X. A used VX2 in a suitable power range + a trip to Korth for a parallax adjustment should do you proud. Worst case scenario there would be some bragging rights if you managed to crater one on a .22.
