I just sent in my BCRA membership and I'd like to try service rifle this year.

I'm wondering what scope to put on my AR? It sounds like 1-4 power would
the way to go. I don't have a fortune to spend but I'd like to get something decent.

Suggestions?

If you shoot the full service rifle program, you will be shooting at 500m. down to 100m. 10X might be too much of a good thing at the shorter distances. I just got one of the Falcons to try this season. Looks as if it should work well for service conditions and CQB competition.
I've also used a Burris 1 1/2 - 6 with finger knobs installed. It worked just fine.
There is (was) a low powered IOR variable in the EE for $375. It could also be a good choice.
There are the high end service type sights. Obviously they can do a fine job.

thanks tiriaq

I just noticed Frontier lists a Millet 1-4x24 DSM-1. They seem to get good reviews so it might be worth a look. That or the Falcon.

I'd really like to go with an AGOC but I have so much gear I'd like to get and the budget only allows so much at once.
