scope magnification for 300yards max

i'm looking for a scope for range shooting to a max of 300-500yard
a was wondering what would be a good magnification for that range
I was looking at cyberk falcon 4x14x46
or a elite 4200 6x24-40

whats your opinion

I use a 3-9x40 very comfortably out to 300, Zeiss Conquest to be specific. Cheers

What kind of shooting?

Guys consistently hit steel plates at 300 yards with EOtech's (no magnification).

Benchrest or varmint hunting is a different story.

well it would be for range shooting, not hunting...
with a bipod in all position...

I think the quality of the optics might limit the clarity at the high end of the range on cheaper scopes. If its for the range, I would go for the Bushnell, if reviews show it has good clarity at 24x. Otherwise, I think I'd be disappointed.

I'd get a 6-18 leupold. Or something like that. That will take you from 25 yards and further.
