Update* - we have swapped scope an regained eye relief with it as far back as possible.
Pics of New setup further downIMG_20260215_165024~3.jpg

Gents , we have a eye relief issue on the Franchi, always have... Told her to just climb the stock but it's not right.
So before buying a Tikka or a Kimber, I think there could be a solution with a Extended Scope mount Base?

At the moment you will see the Scope cannot come Back any further due to the front ring spacing and Scope Bell end..
We need only half an Inch more play.

Do you think there is a suitable fix that doesn't Block the ejection port enough to effect function?

I will ADD photos soon.

For now, is this the Answer?
(not wanting to set up a Pic rail)

Here's current setup.
Rear hasn't got a Weaver base cut out to move any further back...

in the second picture- tolerances are tight for the Low leupold rings- with the Bases.
with a picatiny rail, it is going to extend forward more- meaning i will need to "cut" and "file" down the picatinny , essentially to the join of the action / Barrel. ..
We may also use the "Red" burris prevail, which is actually Contoured different to this above Prevail..
We do not, want to go any higher with the Scope mount height. as we have issue with the drop of comb/heel already- hence the cheek pad.

the picatinny will allow to bring the Scope and mounts 1 Whole SLOT toward the Rear- which will be spot on. but creates issue with front Bell housing- (unless cut and modified)

helps

You will need 2 of them, but yeah, you can move that scope back a bit.
Or get a scope with 4" eye relief, I think those Burris are short on that.

I had the exact same issue with my model 70.
Went pic rail and medium rings. Solved the issue. Gave me a huge extra amount to move the scope back.
I also wanted to keep the dual bases but it was virtually impossible.

You don't have much choice but to go with a pic rail and higher rings with your set up.
Hmmmm, I am really hoping to get just enough leverage with a Pic rail and file it/ cut it back at that front end!
I picked up a cheaper rail for $57....
Worth a try...
Otherwise I'll trade it in on a Tikka 😂
We don't want any higher rings 🫣

Here is the Franchi Elite Varmint with a picatinny rail and 30mm medium height Burris rings. The rail in no way interferes with loading or ejection.
Thank you for that photo man! It indicates a few things.
Tidy pic rail ✅
Your scopes Eye End , is in line with the pistol grip - which is where I think this One needs to be aswell!!
So that shows me , it's fairly common to be a tad short in allowing scopes to come right back in standard , but the Pic rail opens up that half in or so.!

Awesome thanks again

Talley makes an extended front base. You might want to check them out. l use one on my Mod 461 SA SAKO HB in 222Rem

Weaver makes extension rings. Multiple heights. My picture is a low in silver. The high ones are a 1/2” higher. You can buy a set with one extension or a set of two extensions. They allow you one inch forward or back depending on which way you mount them. I have multiple sets on my rifles. I find they work well. That would be your cheapest route.

Fark.
Bought a 1 piece Picatinny for Rem700. SA...

Guess what..

Not correct and even looking Online, it says a 1 piece may not fit.

Hmmmm.
What to do???

What Brand are yours

Anyway Franchi has its Original NEW scope that I got for Her.
This is the "red" model.of the prevail
It shaped differently, an a slight file of the Bases to alleviate the ZOOM band, an we are sighted in business.

Eye relief worked out fine on this scope now- as far back as it can go.

She is a happy shooter... I find it really comfortable now.

We zero'd the 150gr Hot Cor light load for now.

Cheers
