Scope mount for AR15

So, here is the deal. I have my first AR15 coming in the next couple of weeks/months depending on our CFO. I currently have a scope for it but I don't have rings/mount.

To help you help me, the scope has a 30mm tube, 40mm lens and around 3" of eye relief. I will most likely replace the collapsible/telescopic stock with a regular A2 and I would also like the scope to sit as low as reasonably possible.

From what I've read, I can either mount the front ring on the FF handguard (don't really like that option) or I can get some type of one piece mount. Now there is quite a few options out there but I would like to have your opinion from what you are using/have used. Budget is topped at 250$ for this.

Do NOT mount a ring on the handguard, in many cases it is not perfectly aligned with the upper, not to mention even the most structural hand guard will have movement that the upper does not have.
A cantilever scope base like the American Defense would be your best option to gain eye relief and still allow for mounting your scope on the upper alone.
 
With a 40mm lens, the limiting factor on height should be your confort/cheek-weld. The usual height for the AR seems to be 1.5".

The good QD (quick-detach) mounts (one-piece) are American defence, Larue (much harder to find) or GG&G. They should be around your 250$.

If you don't need the QD throw-lever, you could save $ and keep the quality with Nightforce, JPenterprise, Burris, Armalite, etc.
 
The Vortex ADR is a nice piece of kit. Very solid and it has the quick release levers for cleaning/field stripping of the weapon. And One Shot Tactical has them for a great price!
