Hi,

I bought a cooey model 60 bolt action .22 a few months ago and it came drilled and tapped for scope mounts. I would like to mount a scope on it, so I was wondering what kind of scope mount would work. As for a scope, I'm looking at a used Bushnell Buckhorn 3-9 x 40 at a nearby gun shop for 60$ in exc. condition. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

i believe the model 60 also has a 3/8" dovetail rail that 3/8" rings can clamp directly onto, so find rings for 3/8" dovetail, rimfire/airgun, or something along those lines and it should clamp right on. to see if your rifle does have 3/8" dovetail, look at the top and see if theres a slit on each side of the receiver. when buying rings though, make sure you buy ones high enough so that you can put the scope on and so that the bolt clears the scope, but you also don't want it higher than it has to be.

SIR (Cabelas) has the scope mounts. I have a Cooey 60 also. the mount numbers you need are. Part # 641202...Scope base # 2 and Rings...Part # 640087....Both can be got for under $50 plus you need to pay shipping costs. the 3x9x scope is a good choice. As the .22 is not a long range shooter.

So, I need the high short rings for the 3-9x40 scope?

I have decided to go with a 4-32 scope, since they are cheaper. What weaver rings should I be getting for that scope, to go along with the No.2 side mount?

I have the high short rings. they work fine. the long high rings are to clear the top eject action on the winchester model 94 guns. I have a Bushnell 3x9x by 40 on mine and it clears no problem.

Just curious, is the Model 60's receiver the same as a Model 75? I'd love to scope my Model 75 but I haven't had much luck finding any info.
Sorry for the hijack.

Best bet is the 2 piece, top mount, scope bases. This leaves the chamber area open so bullets can be put into the barrel easier. Mine had a one piece mount so I cut the chamber area away.
