Scope Mount for M305

I cannot for the life of me remember the maker of my SM but it is one of the best made mounts you can find... and it is on my M305 shorty... I think it is the CASM, with the see through cut out.

Got a line on a pro ad ARMS18 (the cut out version) for about $120. I'll probably put some medium rings on it but now I'm looking for some optics. I'll be primarily shooting from 25-100 meters, usually in the 50 range. Any advise? I don't want to break the bank on this one either, I don't plan on putting $500 optics on a $600 rifle, but maybe something in the $200 range.

Bassett Machine makes a couple of mounts (different heights) that fit the M305. I hav one mounted on mine with Nikon Buckmaster scope, and the thing holds zero perfectly. Very nice set up and less than $200. Try doing a search on YouTube for more info.

Hey guys, I picked up my first rifle the other day (an M305 with the 18.6" which I actually intend to sell before getting the 20" but that's another story) and now I'm looking at optics options. I've seen the excellent thread in the MBR section showing some fantastic mounts and opinions, however I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the 2 different M14 scope mount offerings by Allied Arms simply referred to as "M14/M305/M1A Scope Mount" and the "See-Thru Superior Duty M14/M305/M1A Scope Mount." Tried some googling and haven't come up with reviews or opinions.

The cheaper option looks a little flimsy with few mounting points, but the Superior Duty claims to mount the receiver at 4 points.

Does it look like it's worth the money? Is there a better option to get for sub $200?

the m14 sights are some of the best around. at 50m spend your money on ammo and shoot that thing.

Agreed. The irons on an M14 are such that any mount that replaces them is of no use to me other than at the range. I use my Troy chassis for that. Flip ups and a leupold prismatic.
In the field, hunting or whathaveyou, if yer mount replaces the irons and you have an optics malfunction, yer hunt/day is over.

get the CASM , made in Canada, and very good quality. Also sit high up so that you dont have issues with empties hitting the bottom of the mount and stovepiping like on my arms18.
