Scope mount for Marlin 1895GS???

Just bought an older 1895GS(my first lever gun)and am seeking advice on the best type of scope mount and where to find one.(already on EE) I plan on using a Tasco 3X scope.

I dont know if tasco would be they way to go with the recoil of that lever...

I would set a leupold VX-3 1.5-5x20 on it.
That scope would look and work great on that gun.

Cleanest, strongest and best looking mount for a Marlin, IMHO, is a Leupold one-piece base, matched with Burris Signature rings. "Medium" height rings work fine for me, I find I don't need one of those miserable hammer extensions. Use this in combo with a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-10x40 Compact on my 30-30.

I agree regarding the Tasco combined with, I assume, a 45-70 caliber. Lots of recoil happening. Step up in quality and you won't be let down when it counts.

For a gun that is at a 100 yard limit pretty much, I would stay with the irons.
