scope mount for SVT 40

And your point?
You bought a gun some 60 years out of production, and you want someone to spend a lot of money building a cheap scope mount!!

Didnt mean to sound like a #### but do you know anyone thats dumb enough to spend 850 on a mount for a gun worth its weight in scrap iron. besides thier vintage surplus they likely cost about 25 cent to produce back then. the price they want you think they were cnc machined frome a brick of gold boulion.

No, they're not surplus, they're new made reproductions. If you think your SVT is "worth it's weight in scrap iron", then sell it to someone who might appreciate it and buy your self a Remugersavchester. I hear scope mounts are cheap for them.

A real SVT mount goes for about $1200 USD, if all original and correct. (Milled-two pieces)

A repro SVT mount about $300 USD. (Casting-one piece)

I believe Tradex is repro scope and repro mount for $850.

you guys are touchy aintchya . this thing isnt even a real svt its some kind of half breed , svt action chamberd in 303 british. dont get your pantys all twisted it is in fact worth its weight in scrap iron . I still cant fathom how the mount could possibly cost that much to produce.

In your case since it's a half breed .303 SVT Toker, I'd just get some angle iron and weld it on to the receiver, then a fist full of JB Weld or 5 second epoxy, then glue da scope to da angle iron!

Yours is definatly next to worthless, but a proper SVT if far from scrap iron.
Just get it drilled for any old rail you can find if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.

I picked up a SVT 40 a few weeks back for around $500.

Chambered in 7.62x54R of course.

When I started collecting these things (milsurps), they were $350 if you could find one.

Anyhow, If you want to scope yours, (which likely says Globe on the side of it) I'd look at getting something like this:

h t t p://www.riflestock.com/catalo...ductCode=22&ProductSubCodeID=160&NewProduct=0

You could attache that to the side of the receiver.

You'll have to get one that ships to Canada.

Try Flea-Bay

Welcome to milsurp:D To get on around here you must not do anything to a rifle, just hang it on a wall and let it appreciate in value and gather dust and you will get on just fine

Neither can I.

mahoney1977 (who ever, where ever you are),
You should have used 2 fist fulls of JB Weld (one for good measure and one for Ford Tough strength) like I stated yesterday in my post, not epoxy. Post pics of your Abortion please!
