Scope mount that allows use of iron sight

I am one of the rare, I use a Springfeild 3rd Gen. I can easily use the open sights with it.

I used Loctite to secure it, and I have had it work perfectly for over 2 years. Tha includes range time and hunting. I got a good deal on it from a US citizen. For guys that can't afford the expensive mounts, I would consider the 3rd Gen.

Hey, I totally agree, I used one for a long time, once I added the loctite I never had a problem.

Here are some pics from way back.
Both are using the SA Gen 3. There is a pic showing an old style #18.
I use that and a Smith mount these days.

I only changed so I could get my scopes lower and also use the #19 ARms without being 5 inches off the bore.

My "grandmaster" (m14 smith) started making ISreali cheekrest copies........years ago.

It worked very well with this set up of the SA Gen 3, I was using Burris Signature High rings even. Tasco Super Sniper, with ARD and extra 2inch hood

I'll see if he still has any around, they are screwed in at the top, down into the stock.

I actually had that stock for sale for 3 or 4 months......nobody wanted it.
It's a USGI Big Red stock, but the 'man' wants it back, so it's not for sale anymore.
