Yes. Sportsmatch from the UK. No downsides, unless you want inclination. Then the Area419 or Mountain Tac Pic rails with recoil lugs.My question, does anyone mount their rings directly to the grooves in the reciver? Pros and cons?
You mean this one? I didnt like the single single torx fastener to secure the ring.Anyone use Burris rings attached to the groove?
Yeah that's the one I was thinking of.You mean this one? I didnt like the single single torx fastener to secure the ring.

I had them on my Tikka T3x mounted once and they held zero for yearsI really like my sako mounts with opti-lock rings. They are rock solid, don't look as bulky as some pic mounts. Although, the pic mounts can add massive amounts of adjustment if your looking to touch something at a great distance.View attachment 922641
A video by MT was why I posed the Q. I mounted a scope to my son's T3 dovetails direct 6 years ago when we bought it, works great but the boss of MT who is an obvious Tikka guru, poo-poohed the system. It must be because his company makes and sells Pic rails and mounts for the Tikkas , I'm thinking. Can be very easy to overspend. I bought a Near mount once… was a work of art, but sure wasn’t cheap.
Picatinny is the current gold standard, so if you have thoughts of scope swapping, etc, I’d do that. If this is one-and-done, go with the groove mounts.
Mountain tactical is a great source for tikka bits.
