scope mount troubles

So when i installed my pro mag see thru steel scope mount i was down about 1/8" in the back making it so i could not even get the gun bore sighted in.So we shimed the mount and which ended up working but i want to know if there is anything i can do to not have to use my makeshift shimes. Here's what it looks like

hi,i got the same problem,i could make scope mout at 0 degree aligne with the cannon of the rifle.i put a beaver tail in charger slot,on the scope mount i made a shim to fit the grouve .150 th thick,after i played whit screws to get level with the rifle,after an hours or two i finaly get my 0 degree.imagine two degree up at 100 yard.
