scope mounting on sks

Geologist,
I just got my scope this week - Bushnell 2-6x 32mm p/n 73-2632 pistol scope with a 9-26" eye relief, I am planning on taking it out on Monday or Tues for the first time, I will post the results.

To be perfectly honest, I am not expecting miracles, but in my option anything has to better than those iron sights.

Shotting the SKS is a blast, I expect it to be even more of a blast with the longer targets like 100 yds.

Have fun and let us know how it groups please.

The problem with the scoutscope mount is you need to take it off every time you clean. Its the same problem as with the reciever mounts. PITA!!

Group: Four out of five hits on the two hundred yard gong. Good enough for me!! I don't take the scope off the mount when cleaning. Buy a new rec. cover mount and fit by filing to ensure a tight, snug fit ie, have to drift the pin in with a punch and hammer. Great setup but be ready to find ( or make) a cheek riser and use a buffer(neoprene washer) behind recoil spring

ok. you guys aint helping the issue... now a reciever mount hold 0? i was already to drill a mount to the side.
now what?
Try a rec cover first . Easy to install with no machining. If you don't like it,take it off. They are cheap and the rifle is not changed in any way. Mine works well! Even when reshooting after disassembly and reassembly, it's still on target. But a TIGHT fit is needed

I have one of these on my 'D'

See thru design allows you to see existing sights under the base. No Drilling , Tapping, or Glueing.
Mount any scope , Aim Point, Laser, etc. that mounts to a standard Weaver base.
Rigid mount bolts on thru existing Holes.

I know your horney to further modify the gun but I would mount up those firesights and see how you like them before you make any further investments.
