Hi,
I am actually trying to buy rings for my T3 Varmint 300WSM / Redfield revenge 6-18 X44
When I bought the rifle, it came with picatinny rail and 30mm rings.
When I just throw the scope on the rings (yeah I know it doesn't fit...!!!!!), the objective is a little over 1/4inch from the barrel.
the question is:
The rings I would buy are 0.270 (saddle height). the actual 30mm rings are 0.350 saddle height.
When installing with the new rings, that would place my scope around 3/16 over the barrel.
What would be your minimum clearance between a heavy barrel, 300WSM, and a scope?
