Scope Mounting

I just bought a new Tasco 3x9x32 rimfire scope for my lakefield 64b but the rings don't want to tighten on the rail. any advice would be appreciated thanks.

try a different set of rings or have the receiver drilled and tapped for a scope base and get a better mounting set up.

Perhaps the rings are defective, or if you are entirely new to all this, not the right type? I bought a brand new Bushnell rimfire scope that came with rings, but when I got it home and took it out of the box I discovered the rings included weren't tip-off rings for a .22.

Buy a set of ring that are not made of Shore .

I'm sure Struff meant "Off-Shore" ie: China
Most Tip-Off rings made for 1 inch rimfire scopes will work as long as the clamping portion is steel.
