I have a Remington model 7 and have a Leupold 1 piece base and also a 2 piece Leupold set.

Both are dovetail front and windage rear.

Also have a set of weaver mounts and rings.

Whats the best one to use ?

I am leaning towards the 1 piece Leupold.

I have a one-piece base on the only bolt-action I own that doesn't have a detachable magazine. It's a good base and apparently mounted straight because I had no problem mounting and zeroing the scope, so I appreciate the benefit that katana mentioned above, but I will probably replace it with two piece Weaver bases because it makes loading awkward. If they work o.k., they'll stay. Easier than getting smaller, nimbler fingers.

I had a Leupold two piece, windage adjustable on a Model 7 S/S I had and it was fine. Also looked better and better access too. Just put a two piece Leupold dual dovetail on another rifle tonight. Boresighted the scope and only moved windage 3 clicks and elevation about 8. Nothing wrong with that. Pay attention to the torque specs Leupold lists on the back of the pack.
