I've just bought a brand new Anschutz 1712 rifle. I'm going to mount my Leupold scope on it. What I want to know is what are the most popular "mount/rings" being used for this rifle? My scope has a 30mm main tube.
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

30mm rings does limit your options, I am using a rail similar to the one below on my Model 54. With a rail, you have many options as far as rings are concerned.

I read that while Leupold does not list any bases for Anschutz,
their Remington 541 bases will fit both the 54 and 64 actions.

Talley

My early 1970's Anschutz sporter (a gorgeous 64-action called a CIL 310 in Canada) was not drilled/tapped for rings ... just the standard European dovetail. Note - not the North American dovetail.

Talley makes Anschutz-specific rings for the Anschutz ... in both steel split-ring (for the dovetail base, and maybe also for drilled-and-tapped actions) and solid-base lightweight aluminum (for D&T actions). I got mine right from the manufacturer in the Excited States many years ago. The DHS forbids that now, but I'm sure that there are distributors here in Canada.

My vertically-split) steel rings are excellent.

While we stock a huge number of talley rings, talley will ship across the border. They are registered and do not currently require and other paperwork to ship bases/rings into Canada.

Merci ...

Thanks for that welcome "correction" ... and Bravo! to Talley for making the effort.

While Millett rings don't seem to be well-thought-of on this site, I've found that their .22 rings work very well and are adjustable enough that they can work on the Euro dovetail (11mm, I believe). I was scoping an older Anschutz match 54, with a nice high gloss finish, and I tried numerous solutions. The Milletts were by far the best fitting rings on those dovetails. Unfortunately, their "gloss" finish leaves a lot to be desired.

They will work well until you come across something better, and they're inexpensive.

Talleys fit the best on my Anschutz 54, and they are much sturdier than the Millets, but they do cost more.

Thanks for that info...I'll have to check into those. If I can find a set of quality rings that have a nice gloss finish, I will ditch the Milletts in a heartbeat. They are functional and cheap, but certainly not pretty.
