Hello,I recently purchased a Remington 700 and want to mount a scope.Its the BDL model with rifled sights.I would like to leave the sights on the rifle for the looks.How high a mount would be needed for mounting a scope or would it be better to remove the sights and just put a low base on instead?If you remove the sights what size screws would be needed to fill the holes so they would be flush and where could these be purchased?Thanks for any and all info.

Use a Leupold 1.5-5 with medium height quick release rings, leave the sights on.

With the Leupold 1.5-5x I would be willing to bet that you could use Low rings as the scope is pretty short and I think it would be well behind the rear sight island. A set of Talley QR rings would be just the ticket (or Weaver rings and carry a quarter in your pocket).
