What is the best scope mount for a M14? I've read the sticky, but it is hard to decide which is the best mount for accuracy. The A.R.M.S mount sounds good because it looks like it fits the best, but I don't know I couldn't find any feedback. Your info would be a great help. Kyrol

I have owned both the Smith & ARMS mounts, and prefer the Smith mount.
The Smith mount sits higher so cases don't hit the bottom of the mount and drop back into the chamber, and the top rail is longer which gives you more options in optics placement.
The Smith mounting system is also more forgiving when mounting different M14/M1A recievers.Not all recievers are made to the same specs.
The main attaching bolt goes through a offset cam which fits into the mount.This allows the main bolt a bit of leeway to thread into the reciever if the reciever mount hole is a little off.

You can use your iron sights with either mount.
