Scope mounts

I have a scope mounting problem. My rifle is a custom 1936 mexican mauser in 7mm08. Whoever mounted the orignal scope screwed up the mounting holes and therefore the scope sits crooked on the rifle. I took it to a G/S and my options were to #1 cap and retap. Option #2 is Leupold bases with adjustable rear windage section. The mounts I need are Leupold Base HC # 49989. The G/S has not been able to find any of these mounts. Is there another mount that would do the same job? Thanks BCKID

What mounts are on the rifle??? You might go to a sports shop yourself and order the mounts you need.
Burris makes a ring with an insert, the inserts can be bought as a set, they'r offset and may do the job for you.

The mounts that were on the rifle were the weaver style. I was planning to replace everything if I can. BCKID
