Scope on a Browning SA22?

I've got a Browning SemiAutomatic 22 with iron sights. Was thinking about putting a scope or red dot on it but really didn't want to take the rear iron sight off to add the rail. Has anyone figured out any novel way to mount a red dot or scope without affecting the iron sights?

That would require D&T of the receiver as it is slick-sided - not sure that would work any better than a rail...

Agreed, but the OP does not want the rear sight to be affected.

Lodi is correct, I'd like to leave the rear iron sight in place and put a mount that would allow a red dot but not affect that rear sight.

I realize that - I was thinking a rail on top of the receiver...
