Scope on a Winchester 1300?

Anyone know if you can mount a scope - like a red dot or something on a 1300?

My 1300 has 4 small screws on the top where the mount could/might mount - does anyone know if that's what those screws are for?

That's peculiar. I just looked at my winny defender, and it doesn't have the four screws you speak of. Of course, mine's a few years old. How old is yours? Picture? If that is what your screws are for, I bet you there is a factory mount. Write winchester.

They wouldn't spend the time (which equals money) to drill and tap the holes, and then fill them with screws, unless they could make money selling you a cheap factory mount down the road, nes pas?

p.s. A red dot is a sight, not a scope, but you can get 1.5 power, and 2 power scopes for shotguns, IIRC.

My 1300 turkey gun was drilled and tapped for scope bases. I no longer own the gun, but I still have a set of Weaver bases for it. If you want them, PM me. Useing regular rings and bases is far better than useing one of those ugly saddle mounts.
