Scope on Cooey...I need an 8-40 tap! (edit: Got it, and included finished pics!!)

Hello all,

I'm mounting a scope on a Cooey 60, and I have discovered that I don't have a 8-40 tap... and no store in my home town seems to have one either... I've looked online, I found one at Midway USA but they won't let me order online because of my Canadian location... anyone know if they will do it over the phone? or have a canadain source... I didn't think it would be a difficult item to find :rolleyes:

acklands-grainger, bumper to bumper, uap napa, any of those stores should be able to source one for you, and ship it

If you want to buy specialty taps, see Brownells.com or Mcmaster.com. Mcmaster is a machinist store so there is no restrictions on sending stuff to Canada. If you are in Ottawa, try Legere Industrial, they are a machinist store as well..
 
McMaster-Carr will NOT ship to Canadians or any other country in the world for that matter unless you did enough sales with them and they felt you were trustful enough to keep you onboard.

KBC Tools (GTA region), FK Tool (in Northern Ontario) and the like can supply you with one.

I'm going to try KBC tools in the morning, I've found one on their site.

Had that problem before. Acklands-grainger don't have it.
I bought mine from the store (Sorry, I don't remember the name) in Calgary.
It is located between 48 and 58 Ave SE on 11 Street (west side of the road).
It's very close to Courtesy Chrysler body shop. I hope people will help me out with the name.

Got the job done yesterday, and it's pretty awesome if I do say so myself!

Target in pic was shot at ~25yards indoor range, standing with forwardhand braced on side of stall.
 
Beauty job on that cooey. I love fixin them up. The weaver scope mounts don't look out of place. I can't see the number on them, which ones are they?

Thats a pretty good group for an old cooey at 25 yards. I think some of mine are pretty shot out and probably didn't see much cleaning in the closet on the farm.
