Hey everybody, narrowing down my options for a scope for my 22. I have a VX-II leupold on my .223, but unfortunately funds won't allow for anything in that price range right now. I've been considering the P-22 from Nikon, but also the the Burris Fullfield II 2-7 or possibly a Crossfire or diamondback from Vortex. Can anyone offer up any experiences good or bad with either, or suggest a decent scope in the sub $300, preferrably sub $200 price range? The rifle will mainly be used for plinking & paper, but it will probably see the occasional bunny or coon...

Have a look at SIGHTRON SIH 4-12X40mm HHR AO. 189$ at hirsh precision. Very happy with it. AO down to 10 yds, crisp and clear optics, i like the 4 to 12 range, imo very versatil, no to heavy and not to large for a rimfire and i like the hhr since its not to bulky. I got it mounted on a Z-5 in WMR. A well balance set up! I had a VORTEX DIAMONBACK 2-7X35 rimfire on a CZ LUX in lr once, and liked it very much also. As a hunting scope it was almost perfect for me but for paper it might be a little short on power. But again if you keep your range relatively short it should be enough. I know Nikon makes great scope also, had two, but i dont like the turrets on the P22. Thats a personel thing. If you dont mind the P22s turret and dont want an AO, im sure the Nikon will serve you well.
