scope options

Hey kids. Just found out that I don't shoot so well with open sights. Gonna need to get a scope. I've been told that large semi autos can be hard on scopes. So here I am asking the think tank. I would like a variable magnification scope under 300 bucks. Does such a thing exist? Thanks in advance gents

Bushnell 3200 or a Redfield come to mind. My dad runs a 3200 on his 30-06 and it is nice andd clear and does not fog up easily.

Something I have found works well is the Elite 3200 fixed 10X ( less moving bits to go wrong ).

Bushnell 3200 fixed 10x is great for target shooting! For the money the banner series is not bad. I have a couple, and like em alright. Not as clear at higher magnifications but for the money they are hard to beat. Under 300 I would go with that 3200 fixed 10x, unless you really need the variable power!

x 4 for the Bushnell 3200.

I've had one on my M1A for 5 years and not a single issue. Mine is the Mil-Dot version and has the fingertip Windage and Elevation knobs. The brass does tend to hit the Windage knob occasionally but has never caused any problems.

m14 scope options

So would you guys all have the side mounting scope mounts? Or would you get a rail? I should have mentioned that its for an m14
