Scope Question

Ive seen 3200s that are permanently fogged a year after purchase. They are far from fool proof. At least if your Leupold packs in it, you'll have it back in your hands fixed or replaced within 3 weeks

scopes

I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 on my 338 mag, it has been on there for about two years and countless rounds of 250 grain bullets have gone down the tube without any problems. The Elite series with the Rainguard feature really does work and it's the only reason I sold off my Leupold scopes.:)

Scope - look at weaver

The Weaver grand slam is a lot of scope for $ . 3.5 X 10 under 400 at SIR. Was a new one on the EE for around 350 (no taxes). Very nice scope

And I like Leupold, don't get me wrong

I have used Busnell for over 15 yrs, and I am not sure what warranty problems you are talking about Win, but I had a 10yr old Trophy scope which leaked and fogged and the guys at Bushnell not only replaced it, but with an Elite 3000 3X9 which was worth 3 times the price of my original scope I purchased 10 yrs earlier, and I received it like 2 days after speaking with the guy on the phone. I have also sent back bino's I had abused pretty good, and they replaced them also no questions asked. Unless things there have changed in the last few years, I would say they back up their products pretty well in my experience. Oh..I also sent back a buddies spotting scope which was over 8 yrs old, and they sent me back a new one no problem, and that was only 2 yrs ago.

Cheers!

Thing is ya don't have problems with the Bushnell.

You obviously have not owned many scopes. Bushnells have problems just like any other scope. And then when you do have problems it takes 3-4 months to get it back, I have seen it many times. Maybe some people get lucky, but most dont.

Burris, same thing.

Leupolds cost to much.

Thats usually what people who buy cheap optics say, or people who are just cheap in general.

In the mid range price for scopes you cant beat Leupold. And yes, I said mid range.

i currently have a b&l 3000 3-9 and its ok, but i did look at replacing it a while back and compared an elite 3200 and vx-1, both in 3-9x40 at a local shop.
the difference was quite noticable in favor of the vx-1.
i'm no expert, so take this with a grain of salt.
i was glassing a storage shed about 75 yards from the shop, and with the leopold i could actually make out the ridges of the wood siding, with the 3200 you could tell it was siding, but you couldn't make out the pattern.
i assume that this signifies a clarity and brightness difference?
btw, i was comparing them both at the same power range thru out the viewing.
or maybe i'm just on crack!

Thing is ya don't have problems with the Bushnell. Seems this whole post has been about warranty and not about optics. If you Leupold owner's are so aware of warranties - you've had to use them more often. P.S. Leupolds cost to much.

Ask yourself why they cost more yet people will buy them and you may have a light bulb over the brain moment.

I have had to send back a Burris Fullfield II 3-9 last year.... still waiting... not impressed!

Well, BR, we certainly agree on this point. :D Burris warranty is about as bad as it gets.

My guess is you will still be waiting for a while.

I am arguing.

My buddy has a VX 1, and he is a real jerk, and he even admits my Fullfield is brighter.

I own 3 Fullields, no issues at all.

You need to go outside at 5 PM and have another look.... who you calling a jerk;)

This thread has become interesting to say the least. I've posted a poll over in accessories>optics. Get in there and cast your vote.

The 3200 is quite a bit clearer...my buddy just got the 4000...and its real nice.

Hi,

I have a Elite 3200 3x9x50 on my 7MMRemMag and have shot a couple of hundred shot and the Bushnell still holds nice and tight, another Elite 3x10x40 on my 270 without problems, I like them both. Also, after comparaison, the Elite 3200 3x9x50 is clearer then my buddy's Elite 3200 3x9x40.

Had many Tasco's and only once did I needed to send one back and it was exchanged at the store so no waiting there.

My Hunting partner won a nice remington laminated SS rifle topped with a Bauch Lomb ? also SS and I would not change any of my 3200 for his.

Leupold, I can't say, never had one and if I go with what I read here, Leupold are top of the line for quality and service while Bushnell is very comparable for quality, but the service not as good if not good but Bushnells overall price are better.... correct me if I didn't assimilate this info correctly ;) but they seems both good enough for all of us without the need to put down each other.

If ever I have to deal with the warranty problems from Busunell, for which I never did, maybe then would I consider a Leupold but for now, everything's running good :D but I might go for a Leupold on my next purchase  .

On top, I sent Bushnell $20 for a promotion when buying a scope and they were out of the item so they refunded my $20 and a couple of months later, I received a nice Browning folding knife free of charge as a "token of appreciation for buying one of their product" as they wrote on the letter they sent with the gift so I can't say that the service is not good, up to now, I can only recommand them :dancingbanana: .

BUY the Leo VX II 3-9x40 and Be Happy :)

Or buy the Bushnell 3200:redface: save some dollars initially but eventually you'll sell it for 1/2 of what you paid and buy the Leupold anyways.
So Spend your Money Once and go Get the Darn Leo !
