Scope recommendations for 308 savage 99C

I recently was given a savage 99 308 by my brother-in-law and I am trying to find a scope for it but having trouble narrowing the search. any recommendations?

Schmidt and Bender PM II. Can't get much better than that.

A Vortex Diamondback in either 1.75-5 or 2-7 would be ideal on that rifle. Small compact low power variables go hand in hand with lever action rifles.

Yes that would be a classic scope on a classic rifle. Might be hard to find though.
