Scope recommendations to look at

Mystic Precision (Jerry) would be whom I’d inquire to for your answers to long range optics.
He has been a wealth of information about optics on here.

I’m in the process of putting a 6mmBR together and am basically down to buying the optic at this point.

I’m not made of money but I’m willing to spend up to $3k territory. I fell for the whole vortex unquestionable lifetime warranty like so many other but I’m tired of distortion at higher power, the poor eye relief at higher magnification. They have served their purpose and now it’s time to start getting into some actual quality glass.

What I’m looking for is a higher magnification scope with good glass and clarity at higher/max power. I will be using this for stationary targets at set distances up to 600yrds with some occasional shooting going out to a 1000yrds. For those I can dial, I also want the ability to shoot at multiple targets at different distance so I’m wanting a Xmas tree style reticle with hash marks for hold over shooting. Im looking for a MOA reticle with 0.250” adjustment in FFP.

To give a idea of what I’m looking for, I’d buy a delta stryker hd 5-50x56mm in a heart beat if it was FFP

Recommendations and suggestions for me to do a little homework on would be appreciated.

If your anything like me you probably have all ready purchased a scope for your BR.
Big money spent on glass does not equal your best performance in glass quality .
I used to think BIG money meant Better Glass . In my option I do not agree any more .
I personally would not spend up tp $3K as there are multiple great options for far less then that .
Heck I had a 2 year old Arken EP-5 that was my 2nd ELR scope and it has good enough glass to see impacts at 1000 metres and it cost $650
Also had a Discovery ED PRS Gen II that has every bit as good of glass as the Arken and was slightly less money .
A short year ago I took the Plunge into what I used to think "Spend more get more " idea . Purchased a New FFP TRACT TORIC 4.5 x 30 .
Wow was I impressed - at first because it does have better Glass then the Budget optics . It is a great optic but not Compared to the new scopes I am using from a South African Company AKRA is the company name . I stumbled onto a post from an Australian or South African content make on U Tube and was intrigued . AKRA corporate informed there was in fact a dealer here in Canada and gave me his contact info .
Long story short and 4 scopes later I am thrilled with them to put it mildly .
The model I recommend for what I do (banging steel from a bench) is the LEGACY X 4 x 30 with FFP in mils .
Half the price of my Tract and and the Legacy X has slightly better glass in all light conditions . YES i am now a AKRA Fan Boy :)

Thanks for all the thorough replies to this thread. I did a fair amount of looking around and reading to decide on which route I was going to go. The optic game seems to be changing rather rapidly lately with a lot of new companies and technology coming out that doesn’t require the inflated price tag of the handful of big names that have been in the business for years.

A Arken or DNT is probably in my future and AKRA has come up more than a couple times in my search. One thing that was a necessary feature for me was 1/8 MOA adjustment for the best possible accuracy at long distance and after chatting with a few in the F class world I ended up opting for the Delta Stryker HD 5-50 DLS-3 which I got from Tesro on a great BF sale.

Sounds like you found precisely what you were seeking and a Black Friday sale to boot!! Woohoo for you, awesome. Have fun peckin away

Lots of great high end scopes on th EE for great prices. I personally wouldn’t spend my hard earned money on some unheard of brand. Stick with what’s already proven!!
Are referring to AKRA as been unknown ? If so yes they are assembled in South Africa but parts come straight from Japan.
Tract is getting recognition in North America and yes its a great optic company but fairly new to the market .
The Big name brand manufactures have had the market cornered for decades - does not mean they are the top choice for me .

Well you buy what you like and I will do the same, but it will be with a company thats been building optics for many years. I like well known established companies for a multitude of reasons. Im old and have used almost everything at one time or another and Ive seen and used lots of junk and lots of soso optics. The last 20 years has seen a real advance in the quality of glass. Many very good scopes available for a reasonable price point. Im a big European optic fan and thats pretty much all I own anymore. Akra might be great but only time will tell and until then Ill just read reviews and play with someone elses at the range or a match if I see one.

So changed your mine and went with SFP Eh . I used one in F class open for the last couple years! 1/8 clicks is nice !

I sure did, I was trying to get a scope for 2 completely different styles of shooting and in the end decided I’ll buy one for each application and end up with a better setup doing so. This setup is for nothing else besides accuracy and the target dot of the DLS-3 reticle will be way more beneficial than a busy Xmas tree style reticle. Thanks in part to this thread helped steer me in the right direction as did the few F shooters I talked to as well as the staff at Tesro who actually runs the same optic and caliber.

Now to chase down the PRS style scope that I had originally set out to find.

I shot two nonJapan 6-24 Bushnell's this summer with parallax that maxed out at 300, ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Established names are meaningless due to outsourcing manufacturing to cheap labour countries.
I have four scopes above 30x from $600 to $4600. Bushnell 8-32x40 A0, 4.5-30x50, Sightron 36x40BRD, Vortex6-36x56.
None are perfect in all conditions.
All shoot the same to 1000.
If I did roll the dice just one more time it would be IOR. Built under one roof since 1936, Scott glass used internally not just externally. 40mm tubes with oversize ocular lens increases fov significantly and provides a better view at the limits of travel.
You could have bought a March 5-50 but it's definitely not worth twice as much. Trijicon's version has crosshair with no dot which I'm beginning to prefer as my eyes get older, but still not near the price you found.
