Hello,

I’m looking to find some 34mm scope rings they seem to be sold out everywhere outside of the most expensive rings. This is likely for a larger caliber.

Can anyone make a recommendation?

Thanks!

What height are you looking for? I saw some MDT's in the E.E. the other day. I bought a pair of the made in the USA UTG Pro's on Amazon a while back and they are good value.

Yeah, if you want to save some money, the MDT premier rings are decent for the price. The EE is my go to unless I’m in a hurry. Maybe a wtb add. It helps to have a range of what you need in a “high” ring. There is no set standard between manufacturers.

MDT's pop up on the EE quite often but their elite rings still go for around $150 used, there is a pair of extra high premier rings on the EE for $90 shipped or you could try the UTG pro's

Would MDT rings be able to tolerate a large caliber? Bought a vortex scope and don’t want to damage it.

Yes. No problem. I’ve used them on a .338 lapua before. They’re maybe not as beefy as the vortex rings, but still overkill as far as strength goes. I did eventually swap them out for a NEAR mount, but mostly because I like the one piece mounts. Like with everything firearms related, spend as much as you can afford on everything… if your budget is $100, MDT is up to the task. If you can afford $500, the sphur or NEAR is the way to go.

How would I measure the exact height required? It’s a 56mm scope going on a picatinny

The most common way is to order the wrong size and then adjust from there..... :) A bit too high is better then too low, specially if you can adjust your cheek rest.

Do you have everything already minus the rings? If so you can mock it up and take some measurements from the top of the rail to the centre line of where you want the scope to sit.

MDT was by far the best value for 34mm rings when I bought a set last year. Not sure if some other companies are making them now..

A lot of that depends on the configuration of the rifle, if it is a more traditional stock with nothing over top of the barrel a 1 or 1.1" height will get it done. If you have a chassis like a Cadex you will need 1.45" to clear the forend wrap over the barrel.
