Putting together my first precision rifle and the last piece needed is rings. Not sure how important expensive rings are so I'm looking for suggestions and information.
Rifle: Tikka CTR 6.5 CM
XRS Chassis System
Scope: Vortex® Viper® PST™ Gen II Riflescope
Bi Pod: MDT GRND
MDT ELITE MUZZLE BRAKE

Hope I finally get to shot this rifle in the up coming weeks.

Not sure the Tube diameter on that scope, but I really like the Hawkins Precision rings with the built in bubble level in the rear. For $260 ish thats a great value. Nightforce will do the same thing but you have to buy the bubble ring top extra.

Go Big Tactical or Insite Arms should have them I think

When you marry a scope to a rifle, you need decent rings or the marriage won't last. Just like in life. Burris, MDT, and Vortex are good options. They offer affordable rings and precision matched rings. Do yourself a favour and get a torque wrench to tighten the screws. Bases need 25-30 in lbs, rings 15-18 in lbs so the tube isn't crushed. The rail 30 in lbs. Guessing can be expensive.

ATRS are my favourite, I’m a fan of the single cap screw. Piles of great options out there. Lots of opinions about whats best when really it doesn’t make a difference. Pick a decent quality set and go with it. No need to spend 500$ on rings.

I run MDT (also work there so take it for what it is) One piece mounts primarily, and premier rings and they are rock solid!

Bought lots of MDT products both used and new. Great products and Canadian BONUS. Also have had great experience with Vortex PMR. With quality scopes costing big bucks why would anyone cheap out on rings.I have buddies that like Hawkins and ATRS.

ATRS rings are the ultimate quality for the money. I would have put some on my last build but there wasn't a height that was just right.

ATRS rings for the score!!!! great product, good guys stand behind their stuff, recommend highly Have them on an AI/AT , a Tikka , and a wait for it... a Ruger!

Yet another vote for ATRS rings.

Looks like ATRS rings and MDT rings are use by most and recommended. Definitely looking for best bang for the buck without compromising the quality of the other parts.
I have something options to look into now.

Thanks everyone,

What distance are you looking to shoot - 100 or 1000? If beyond 200 or 300 I like the Burris XTR Signature rings with inserts. They come with 0,5,10 and 20 MOA cant so you can setup your rig to shoot long distance. And an MOA rail doesn’t hurt either. I’m using 20 and 30 MOA rails and the XTR’s on my precision .22’s and .243 and I like the ability to easily shoot some distance, plus you don’t mark your scope tube with the inserts.

Hawkins precision with the level. Insite carries them. I have a set on my CTR and going to put another set on the 7prc when I get it. They’re solid and not overly bulky
