I'm looking for a new scope for my tikka t3x. This will mainly be for shooting steel at longish distances (700-800m). Currently I am consider a Viper PST gen ii 5-25x50 or a Nightforce SHV F1 4-14x50. What are your opinions? FFP with a decent reticle are both key features for me. I am open to recommendations under $1800 CAD.

You can also look at Sightron SIII serie.
Good glass and accurate tracking turrets is what you need and should be first priority.
For me, shooting targets with known distances, FFP is useless. I use FFP for hunting so I dont have to unlock turrets and play with them. Have no problem to get 1 gal windshield washer jugs at 900 yards with 3-15 weaver tactical

Weaver Tactical and Bushnell Elite Tactical scopes have done very well for me in the past.
