Scope Selection - Need some help

Ziess Victory 2.5-10x50 HT with illumination and ASV
Leica ERi 3-12x50 with IBS - I've seen this as low as $1900 recently
S&B Klassik 3-12x42 from Wolverine for ~$1500

You will then have the highest quality optics, much less weight than NF and similar, nicer balance imo on your Sako and within your price range.

If your willing to spend the cash on NF....look at Swarovski Z6 3-18x50. Or 2.5-15x50.

Mhmm, now that would be one heck of a scope (for $3000, which I'm not willing to spend). Budget is $2000, with a stretch to $2500 if it truly is the best or damn close, hence the NF.

Sorry i thought u were in BCistan, and just trying to help a brother out .....with the two rifle thing.

That Swarski scope sounds juicy.

Nah no worries, the scope does sound nice though eh? But way out of price range.

Depends what you want to do. IMO the NF is nowhere near the best for hunting or on a Sako Finnlight.

I PM'd the guy with the Swaro and asked him to contact you....

-J.

ps- I asked him to speak slowly, use simple words, and not mention the Riders 2-16 season....

I'd look at the leupold vx6 with cds or the swaro z5 with the target turrets...I'm partial to the newerT-MOA reticle and the 4W reticles myself, for hunting I prefer turret for elevation and reticle for wind holdover...both of the scopes are respectable in weight, lighter than comparable vortex offerings and I think a bit cheaper than nightforce last time I shopped around...I feel like the vx6 had more forgiving eye relief for me than the z5, but everybody's eyes are different

if you're prepared to drop that type of coin, I think the finnlight comes with a crappy Tupperware stock given the price of the rifle....a finnlight in a macmillan stock, with a vx6 would be a "lifetime" gun in my safe

I'm a big, big, fan of the Leopold Vx3, along with the Vx6. I've got I believe 3.6-4.4" eye relief on my Vx3. Which is wonderful. Along with the CDS turret, it makes a great hunting and target rig. I am consistently going out to 500m with it at my farm, and have used it out to 1000m, though my 10x magnification was wanting at that range haha.

Not as expensive or prestigious as something like a Nightforce, and I won't say as good or better, but I'm going to say for the money my favourite scope, and will do everything you want it to. Better than the Vortex PST's I've owned, for sure.

Also, you will have money left over for another rifle and scope vs a Nightforce ;)

Ha, I love the recommendations for the second rifle at the end. Though I'm lucky my gf is even allowing me to buy one.
Whats the power magnification you have on the Leopold? Are they crystal clear, even at the highest power?

My VX3 is only a 3.5-10x40, but yes, it is incredibly clear even at 10x. I would venture a guess that it would be the same if it was a higher magnification scope, crystal clear at highest magnification.

I'll have to take a look at them after I get back from my shift, unfortunately Cabelas only ever has a limited stock of anything.
