I have put a new VXIII on my remington model 700 I am having a hell of a time sighting it in . It seem like there was not enough adjustment build into the scope for elevation .I did not have this problem with my VXII on my ruger
Iused leupold bases & rings . The gun shop in town said this is normal for the new leupolds most if not all models .Has anyone else come across this & is it a big deal to shim the rear base .
Thank for the reply's in advance

I had the same problem. In my case, I took the gun into a gunshop to have new rings mounted and to have it bore sighted. The gunsmith had put two different bases of two different thicknesses on. When the proper size base was put on, the problem went away. Take your scope off and using a long straitght tool ( a long screw driver?) touch both ends of one mounting bracket; if you have the right pair under the other ring, the tool should also touch that base from end to end.

There are two gun shops in Kelowna-shops that sell guns. You need to see a Gun Smith. Try Del Selin near the corner of 28th St. and 28th Ave in Vernon.
