Scope Shopping Fatigue

'been shopping for scopes, and been chasing my tail.

New 300 WM in house that needs glass. Primary hunting rig, 400-500 yard max range. Duplex reticle was the plan, not interested in busy cluttered bullet drops or excessive hash marks. Thinking 4-16ish magnification range (need more than 3-9). Must have a 30mm tube, and was thinking more than 40mm objective. Price in the sub 1.5K range?

What does the CGN knowledge bank suggest?

Look for a used Mark 4 4.5-14x or if you get really lucky, a used NXS 3.5-15x. Duplex reticle will be difficult to find in either though but the majority of Leupold's Tactical and Nightforce's reticles aren't particularly cluttered.

That's a very good standard I believe so myself.
I have but one old Weaver Micro Trac 10x on a 22 target rifle plus a Burris red dot on another 22. Five Leupolds and two NF scopes on various hunting and target rifles.
I have a few rifles dedicated to irons only. However when I really need a scope I want good clarity and minimal eye fatigue.

Has anyone handled/recommend the hd vx3 line? The 30mm 4.5-14 cds with adj parallax comes in around 1099. Single turn cds dial gets beyond the 500yds OP is looking for.
