I have a .22 that i am having trouble sighting it in. It is a single power scope with compensation lines. I am sighting it in at 50 yards and its shooting a tad right. So I turned the scope windage one click and now it shoots hard left. when I turned it one click in the opposite direction and its shooting a tad right again.

Any suggestions its a picatinny ring mount, They are tight I promise.
Thanks in advance.

hit it with a hammer?

is it 1/4 inch/ click or 1/2 inch /click? if it's half it may not be sensitive enough to zero where you want it to be. i'm sure someome will be able to come along to help you out better than i can.... i still say get a hammer.

how much is a tad and how much is hard? if yout talking like 1/16 right then 1/4" left its probably the scope doesnt have the adjustment, but if your like 1/8"right then 2" left something is fukt with your scope...

Point made. Get a new scope. Got any suggestions its a small marlin papoose. its a small pack rifle. I want something small enough to keep in its original pack. It comes with a small case/pack. I don't want the scope any more than 6 inches it only has to be sighted for 50 yards, 75 would be great.

i have a bushnell 4x scope on my marlin 795 that would probably do what you needed just fine. i'm not really willing to sell it, but i'm sure you could find one somewhere

You'ved probably already checked this, but if not...make sure that the barrel nut is tight. If the barrel is loose, fiddling with the scope won't help you.

fromt the sounds of it, the scope adjustment problem is constant and repeatable, if it was the barrel nut the over all accuracy would be effected, not just 1 click of the windage knob
