Scope slipping in rings

The drug stores sell a personal item that men sometimes use, made of a very thin, rubberized material. Cut off a band, narrower than the scope rings, and stretch this over the scope where the rings are.
This has been the traditional method of holding scopes for many years.

How do you get the lube off?

i would use talleys. have them on my tikka 338 no slippage. i used talleys on my 375 h&h. never a problem
