I have a Marlin heavy bbl 17 on the way, it does have a scope on it, but I may switch it out for something more suitable.
I plan to shoot paper at 100, foxes at 40-150 and bunnies at 10... what is out there?

I know there are some 17hummer specific scopes, are the any good?

I can't really recommend it yet but I have a pine ridge 17hmr scope on the way from SIR/cabelas canada for my savage glv. It should be here next week so then I will be able to say if it works, holds zero, etc. I donno if I will get a chance to test the bdc turret too soon, but I can always hope.

Pretty sure BSA makes a 17 Sweet or something that is designed for the 17 hmr. bullet drop reticle or something... pretty popular I've been told, might be worth a look. I'm fairly happy with my BSA mil-dot

yeah, thats the one my friend has the "sweet" and it works like advertised. He is a real killer shot with his. Ding, Ding, Ding. (thats the sound of him shooting at 200 yard small silouettes. )

I have a 4-16-50 on my .17 and enjoy it! :D :sniper:

I purchase a Cabelas Pineridge 17hmr scope. It has BDC turrert which for the most part works well if the wind behaves, it has side focus, and overall the clarity is good, and it holds zero pretty good. The only negative is the BDC turret only goes from 100-300 yards if your taking shot below 100 than that they you have to adjust the MOA by counting clicks. Otherwise I would just do a small hold over adjustment.
