Hey all,

I am thinking about picking up a Tikka Battue in .308. I hear that the sights are great, but I'd like to hear from any owners of this rifle is there are any issues mounting a scope given the height of the front sight hood?

If you own a scoped Battue, I'd love to hear your thoughts, or even better maybe see some pics. Any and all input/opinions welcome.

Thank you.

hello i had a tikka 695 battue so the same sights. i had on it a zeiss 1.5-6x42 then an european-30 leupold 3-9x40 all works great started with ewa qr mounts and finished with warnes qd that hold on this rifle. that rifle is long gone but it was a very good one.

I have a Battue in 30-06 and just bought a MaSi QD scope mount. I have not found a better QD mount than the MaSi

I have a battue, and yes, there are issues.

I can confirm that the Warne QD rings for Tikka Grooved receiver - medium height work with the VX3-1.75-6, and the VX2 2-7. The clearance between the scope's objective bell is tight enough that you won't get a scope cap on, so use a neoprene sleeve... which *just* fits.

There *is* a clearance... it's just small.

The VX3 2.5-8 will NOT work with the Warne medium rings.

Also, I think the VX-2 2-7 is better than the VX3 1.75-6. Crazy, right?!?

Can anybody post a pic of looking down the iron sights of their battue? I'm interested to see how they are. I like irons when they are good ones

Hi Guys, I didn't want to create another post since this post is related to Tikka T3X Battue. I would like to use See Thru rings or base with it? Do you have any recommendations as to which product shall I use for rings/base mounts for a scope?

Thanks in advance!

The reason I went to the Tikka Battue and MaSi QD mount is the versatility of this rifle. When deer hunting I will sit for a couple hours in the morning with a scope then we run hounds through the day. While running hounds I will just remove the scope and use the irons. Best of both worlds with one gun.

Mike, just wondering why don't you use see thru rings or mount instead to use your iron sights?
Did you have any issues with Zero loss in you scope after removing and reinstalling?
Where can I find Masi QD in Canada?

See through mounts are to high fir me, I have never been able to use them. With the MaSi mount your scope never loses zero, they are made by a tiny company in Europe ( Sweden or finland) . I got lucky and bought mine off the EE but if you message The Kurgan he can point tou in the right direction or just do a google search on MaSi QD mount

MaSi is specialized machining company based in Finland. They make a wide array of precision-made metal products, including specialized parts for military and police. They are without question a reputable company that produces high quality products. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. They don't produce the volume required to open up to the North American market, but they will ship to North America. They are quite happy servicing Scandinavia and the rest of Europe.

Thank you Mike & Kurgan! This is very helpful, I have been struggling to find something suitable for T3X Battue and using iron sight whenever I wanted. I am excited now!

No worries, I have picked up alot of good advice through Kurgans posts regarding the Battue and MaSi mount. I just mounted a Burris Fullfield ll 2-7x35 on my Battue with the MaSi QD mount tonight and think it will serve my needs quite well. That being said im still on the lookout for a VXR LOL

What is the benefit of the battue if you're going to put a scope on it?
Why not scope it? There are lots of scoped rifles out there with scopes on them. Still a handy rifle either way.

I just bought a Ruger #1A with an express rear sight. The comb is too high on the rifle to use the sights.
