Scopes for 50 cal?

You should have 100 minutes of elevation in that scope, with the right base you should be able to get 1760+ yards shooting 660 grain surplus ammo at 2910 fps. Get yourself a new 50 jay?

I have this Leupold scope below and some bullets as I stated before there Clayton for a 50 BMG some day ... and still learning how to use the bloody scope HAHA ... and something is in the works ... ;)

honestly, if im gonna be paying $5+ a shot id want the best i can afford, so for me id be rocking another Schmidt and bender.. i dont think any one can honestly say the can afford to buy and shoot a .50 and not afford top quality glass.

at the very least id be looking into a nightforce

Sound advice thank you. I am looking at a S&B scope ... will have to wait a bit though and use the one I currently have. What is everyone else using on their 50bmgs?

My advise would be not to sweat it, your Leup will work just fine. Get shooting any way you can.
(Having said that, I don't know if theres any concern about that BORS stuff, doubt it.)
Fifties do break scopes....sometimes. So do 300 WinMags....
I once ran a BSA 6-24 on mine (honest) for over 100 rounds. Very poor long-range choice, but it allowed me to shoot, and it was still fine when I took it off. I suggest enjoying some trigger time, and worry about an upgrade in the future.

What are you going to get for a gun?

I have a Premier 5x25 on my 50, scope is great but I also have a S&B on my .338 and I like the S&B better. If you care for my reasoning I will pass on my 2cents.

I just got a new 260 rem and it will be sporting a S&B one day when the boat arrives from Germany with my package.

Germans make good glass but really slow boats.

very nice!! your one lucky man!

if you dont mind me asking, what did that set you back?? a 50s the 2nd think on my list after another S&B and with work picking up that shouldnt be to far away. you can shoot me a PM if you like

I finally did it and spent the $$$ and found myself a 50bmg ... Thanks VERY MUCH to the guys at PGW as they ROCK ... here's my new single shot 50bmg below ... can't wait for it to arrive. I'll see about a new scope at a later date ... my leupold will do for now. ;) To say I'm happy is a FN understatement. HAHA.
