How do standard reticled scopes hold up on mini-14's and AR's. Do the actions take a toll on regular optics like 3200 series bushnells and similar ?

If they do what would a good moderately priced alternative choice be such as red dots and so on. Eotech and Aimpoints are a little pricey for my wallet.

My older Mini14 wore an old Bushnell Banner for roughly 4000 rounds. My current Target Mini has a couple thousand rounds through it and has had the same Bushnell 3200 on it for most of that. Neither scope has offered up any problems and both continue to adjust properly and hold zero indefinitely. Most of the Mini14's I've had over the years have required periodic checking and retightening of the scope rings to prevent loosening due to vibration, but the scopes themselves have been perfect.

My Target model (Hogue stock) gets me about 1.25MOA at 100 yards with MFS. My buddy's laminate version produces true MOA with either MFS or Winchester White Box. Neither gun seems to care for any bullet heavier than 55gr....RUAG prints 5MOA "groups" out of mine! I suspect either gun would improve with handloads, but neither of us has the patience to crawl around in the weeds scrounging up empties 15 feet away. A more dedicated handloader could probably make these guns sing.
