I recently sealed a deal for a 408 Cheytac rifle, which obviously is capable of some pretty extreme ranges. Now of course, I just need to find a scope to match. I emailed the manufacturer to ask if they recommended any specific scopes and they said no, just to make sure that it has a massive amount of elevation adjustments to be able to compensate for those longer ranges. I tried Google, just all I got was a bunch of stuff about terms and how-to's with the adjustments on a scope. So I was just wondering what some of the options were for scopes that I could use. Apparently the world record (no I'm not trying to beat it, just saying a reference here) was done with a Razor HD 5-20X50 MRAD because it had higher elevation adjustments than the Vortex 4.5-27x56, even though the magnification was less. Now I'm not saying that I plan on shooting out to 4000 yrds or more, and the Razor 5-20x50 does look like a good scope, I'm hoping to find something with a bit more magnification. Can anyone suggest any specific scopes to use? I have no brand loyalties and would be willing to look at any and all scopes as long as they're available here in good ol' Canada. Thanks.
