Scopes

I always advocate for a scope that has an adjustable objective to correct the parallax and be able to focus clearly on targets, which for a 22 are generally 50m and closer...

So, IMHO as an entry level scope I see nothing wrong with a Bushnell Banner 4-12x40AO or a Bushnell Trophy 4-12x40AO. Both of these offerings are reasonably priced.

And let's be honest, while the Ruger 10/22 is a great little gun for casual plinking & small game hunting, they're not going to set accuracy records & as such, I wouldn't spend more on the scope than I did on the rifle...

Oh, and this is not be slagging on the Ruger 10/22, just being a realist about the platform & the capabilities of the base model most folks have.

Hi everyone
I just purchased a ruguer 10/22. Just wondering what everyone would recommend for scopes?
The ruger 10-22 has a blowback-operated type action. This means that the bolt cycle back and forth at each shot. When the bolt comes back and closes the chamber, it slams the back of the barrel quite hard. This induces repeated vibrations in the frame, and thus, in the ....scope. Scopes HATE vibrations. Make sure to buy a scope that handle these vibrations without any problems. Guess how I know it....
