Hey guys...I've just searched on here a while, and can't fully grasp what it takes to scope one of these guns. From what I gather, the original..stamped bases only accept scopes with a 3/4" tube, but a modern Weaver (#2?) base with rings can accept a scope with a 1" tube? I've looked at that base, and some other (weaver side mount scope #48402) and all I can see is a flat-looking thing, and it isn't obvious to me how you get rings on it.
I've inquired with someone selling a 60/600 base in the EE, but it looks like a vintage one. I've asked the seller if it will accept a scope with a 1" tube, no reply yet.
The rifle this may end-up on belongs to a farmer friend of mine (didn't know he owned a .22) and I only saw it today for the first time. The receiver is drilled/tapped, so I THINK it should be something I can get parts for on CGN...with some helpful CGN know-how!
If possible, I'd like to set this-up for him as a favor, but I didn't want to take the rifle today to work on it without some parts lined-up to get it going.
Thanks for taking a moment to reply.
