scoping a No1 Mk3

Was wondering the best way to scope a No1 Mk3, i have a bubba'd one that missing the sights and the barrel has been shortedned about an inch and a half. Only one i have seen is the Ati one, are these any good? And if not are there any other ones out there?

If you have no sights on the rifle and it's cut down, put on a Parker Hale one piece scope rail. Needs to be drilled and tapped however it's rock solid. The no gunsmith mounts like ATI don't hold up well....my experience.
 
I put a TO-1 base on one. Works well, but limited to the Weaver Tip-Off rings to go on the small dovetail of the base.

On another one, I used Weaver 2 piece bases. One went onto the top of the receiver ring and the other onto the charger guide. These positions are of different heights, so I used two bases of different heights to even things out. One of them only has a place to use one screw. The one screw and some LokTite has done the job. The scope is not heavy.

This has lasted 30 years on a rifle used as my hunting 'loaner' and back up rifle. The standard Wevaer base allows for a full selection of rings, including the "Low" ones that give a nice scope position.

ya do not get the ATI mount first time using the thing after 5 shots the mount and scope came off and hit me in the face. I lock tighted the crap out of it too.
 
Many people report good results with some of the no-gunsmithing mounts (I have used no-drill Cad-Techniks on No.4s and a No.5 and had no problems,) but for a rifle that is already modified like yours - i.e. shortened barrel - I'd probably have it drilled and tapped for mounts.
