Interested to hear & see pics [if ya got 'em] of how you fellas are scoping your Savage 99's... Just picked up a nice Savage 99F in .308 Win. Already wears an older steel tube Weaver K3 in low Weaver rings but thinking about upgrading the scope set-up.

Would like to keep it relatively "low profile"... Been thinking about something in a 2-7x32mm...

Whataya recommend?

Sorry, forgot about the scope. I had the same as you are thinking Leupold 2-7x33mm. Sold it with a Bushnell and kept the scope :D. I kinda miss that rifle on some days and on most other days very glad I sold it.

I use a 2-7x33 for hunting but for the range, I have a 2.5-10x40. I also have some 4x scopes on other guns. They look real good with the low profile, but I sort of like a little more magnification when hunting. You will have to remove buckhorn sights on your 99 on most models when using low rings, and you might have to use medium rings on a 40mm riflescope. Found this out from experience. Either way, enjoy your gun!

I got a 99e with a 2x7x30mm Bushnell Elite 3200 on it. Works good and looks good. I used to have a cheap bushnell sportman 3x9x40mm it woker good too, I like the more compact elite 3200 but I also liked the 40mm for picking up game quicker and a larger field of vision.

my 99-c has worn a bushnell 3x9x32 ever since i got it back in 71-75 or so- i found the 40mm version tends to throw the weight forward and i had to use higher rings as it was contacting the barrel- ie i coyln't burrow down into the stock properly for a good cheekweld-

I've got different scopes on different guns.

99-375 wearing a 3-9 Redfield Lo-Pro

99R in 308 now wearing a 2-7 Redfield Lo-Pro

99F Bushnell 3-9

170 in 35 Rem has a vintage Savage 4X scope on it, still have 3 more Savage 4X's in the safe.

99C 22-250 Bushnell 6-24X Boone and Crockett

1899 in 38-55 has a Stith scope and mounts on it.

1899 in 250-3000 w Boone scope.
