Scoping a Stag R2

I just got a Stag R2 Model AR-15 (and I can't wait to shoot it!) and was wondering what the best scope for it is. After talking with Dangertree I know that I need a riser (probably get it from him) and that I'll probably be shooting as far back as the 600 yrd range (can't see me doing more than that). But other than that, I'm pretty blind about scopes. I know just about nothing about them. Can someone help me out. I don't even know what I should be paying. Less than $500 for rings (if needed) and scope is about my price range right now. I'm flexable too. But in the end I'm wanting something of good quality or better, mil dot, and that'll look cool (least of my worries!!)

Well if you want a scope my next choice would be the Leupold MRT 1-5, go with a Larue mount. If money is a issue, go with a Aimpoint and ARM's mount. You will need a Aimpoint and Larue mount down the road so its money well spent. I know these aren't the cheapest choices and some members will crucify me, but after all it just my opinion.I have a ACOG but they are pricy and somewhat hard to get these days.

I second the Aimpoint M2 or M3, have had my share of the ACOG's and they are great but for that sort of money you have options like the Nightforce 1-4 or the Leupold MRT & they will all serve you well.
