Howdies!
I'm looking to scope my 45colt Winchester AE .
can anyone who has done this give me some idea of which mount and model, I'll be using a weaver 4x on top, thanks youawl! UG
PS: it is drilled and tapped bow and stern of the ejection port, BUT i'm fine with a side mount if that's all thar is avail.

Back in the day - mid 1970's or early 1980's, I put a 4X Weaver scope on a store bought Win 94 in 30-30 - more than likely a post-64 rifle - cartridge ejection was straight up, so the scope was mounted using Weaver side mount and rotated 1/4 turn so Elevation and Windage function were reversed - that gave me enough clearance for the shells to eject, but the scope was noticeably offset to the left of the bore line. You likely avoid much of that with the AE version - but watch your clearance - is not likely that you will want your fired case to bounce off the scope body and back into the action.

From what I read 1" rings should address that, thankyou

as mentioned the rifle is A E so a standard 94 really has little to do with the question about what bases the angle eject model uses
there will be no issues with brass falling into the action that is why win made the change
